报告摘要 Abstract:

We use a few examples of delay differential equations, arising from ecological and epidemiological systems, marketing and financial analyses, and neural and physiological feedbacks, to illustrate the importance of understanding the global attractors characterizing the long-term behaviors under delayed feedbacks.  We show how time lags can be used for  associative memory and pattern recognition. 

报告人简介：吴建宏，加拿大皇家科学院院士，加拿大卫生科学院院士，加拿大应用数学讲席教授，加拿大约克大学数学与统计学院教授，约克大学危机缓解、模拟、快速反应和治理研究所主任，约克大学危机管理与建模研究所主任。湖南湘阴人，1979 年进入湖南大学数学系，分别于 1982 年、1984 年、和 1987 年获学士、硕士和博士学位。1987-1989 年在美国孟菲斯大学任访问教授，1989-1990 年在加拿大阿尔伯塔大学从事博士后研究，1990 年入职加拿大约克大学。发表学术论文 400 多篇，出版专著 10 余部。在应用数学、动力系统、生物数学特别是公共卫生数学建模和传染病防控方面做出了重大和杰出贡献。获得了包括加拿大女王钻石禧功勋章，约克大学杰出教授等十余项学术成就奖励。
