报告摘要 Abstract: 

I will outline the K-theory of C*-algebras and describe how the classical Fredholm Index Theory of bounded linear operators over Hilbert space is generalized to the content of C*-algebras as non-commutative topological objects. Some related open problems will also be discussed.
